The Greg and Friends Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, driven by the unwavering dedication of its CEO, Dr. Thao Tran, and CFO, Dr. Hailey Pham, with Dr. Thao Tran as the founder of this organization. Their shared commitment to traditional health practices and community service has left an indelible mark on countless lives. ​

     Dr. Tran initially practiced Acupuncture and Vietnamese Medicine in Vietnam before pursuing chiropractic medicine at Palmer College of Chiropractic-Iowa and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University-Minnesota upon moving to the United States. Her commitment to holistic approaches has transformed her patients' health. Dr. Pham, also an alumna of Northwestern Health Sciences University, was inspired by acupuncture's effectiveness in stroke recovery among her family members, motivating her to enhance people's health.

     The foundation's genesis traces back to the remarkable life of Greg Scammel, a Vietnam War veteran and Dr. Tran's godfather. Greg's selfless service despite exposure to Agent Orange epitomizes resilience and compassion. His influence catalyzed Dr. Tran's vision for the foundation, aimed at extending healing to those in need, especially in Vietnam.

 

      The foundation's main goal is to orchestrate journeys to Vietnam and various other destinations, offering complimentary traditional health therapies to individuals in need, while also aiding our partner organization, the Center for Caring Dioxin Victims Children and Disabled Children in Bao Loc City, Vietnam. This support includes alleviating financial obstacles for patients affected by Agent Orange, enabling their participation in the organization's three-week detox programs. Among the trips coordinated by the foundation is the annual student volunteer expedition, offering students invaluable hands-on experience under the guidance of local doctors and herbalists. Simultaneously, it delivers crucial healthcare services to communities with restricted access to such treatments. 

 

      The Greg and Friends Foundation is committed to giving back to society by promoting safe, traditional healing practices to a broader audience, both in the United States and internationally. Dr. Tran and Dr. Pham are passionate about helping people while preserving and sharing traditional health practices.

 

     During our first trip to Vietnam in 2023, six practitioners learned about Traditional Vietnamese Medicine and the integration with biomedical practice in Vietnam They also spent three days treating over 340 rural patients at two different clinic sites with a local doctor and brought gifts from the foundation to 30 families impacted by Agent Orange in the 2nd ward of Bao Lộc City. 

 

     In our most recent trip to Vietnam in 2024, thirteen practitioners also spent three days treating over 400 rural patients in four different cities with a local doctor and brought gifts from the foundation to 30 families impacted by Agent Orange in the 2nd ward of Bao Lộc City.
